Sometimes something happens and it brings back the memories, tonight we revisited this story from when we first moved back to the States. Keep in mind that Ken is from England and not yet familiar with American lingo or abbreviations:
He called me at work and this was our conversation:
Honey, what are gah
I have no idea what you're talking about
Gaaaahhhhh Gaaaaahhhhh
I don't understand what you're saying. Where are you seeing this? What are you talking about? (I look around the office and say "Does anyone know what a Gaaaahhhh is?)
Gaaaahhhh....on the side of the road it says Gaaaahhh Peaches, are they some special kind of peach?
I think they mean GEORGIA, GA is the abbreviation for Georgia when you see two capital letters like that its often a state abbreviation
Well they have it spelled capital G small a, Ga Peaches, written out in spray paint on a piece of plywood and when I asked them Gaaaahhh meant they just looked at me weird.
Honey don't buy peaches from them, they can't even abbreviate Georgia
Oh, I wasn't going to buy any, I just wanted to know what a Gahhhhh was and if it was some special kind of peach thats all.
HILARIOUS!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh my gaaaaaah that was funny! * snort *
ReplyDeleteI can hear the British accent in my head tee hee.
TOO funny. It happens with my foreign lover and I all the time!! We speak the same language but sometimes we just don't know what each other is saying.

LOL!! That is halarious. that was like when my parents moved to PA and had to learn all the lingo there like "gumbands" (apparently rubberbands) and "red up" (getting ready). They had no clue what anyone was talking about. That is a great story.
ReplyDeleteOMG too, too cunny!
