I was sent a link to iVillage spring fashion looks for plus size woman as featured on Today Show.
Many of the styles are clothes I'd never wear but they would look adorable on some of the younger girls out there so I thought I'd the link with all of you and include my little letter to the fashion industry.
Dear fashion industry,
If you're going to make a top in a size over 24 give it SLEEVES to cover my batwings, not baby cap sleeves but real sleeves that hit at least mid arm. Halter tops and sleeveless shirts? What were you thinking? I have stuff that I don't want exposed, for the sake of small children, let me cover up.
Love,
Diana
AMEN SISTAH!
ReplyDeleteP.S. While you're at it, please outlaw Daisy Dukes and thong bathing suits for women of ALL sizes.
ReplyDeleteLMAOOOOOOOOOOOO Sing it sister! And sadly the the sleeves just get smaller as we do. I end up wearing mens t shirts most of the time around here cuz the womens t shirts have these half sleeve things they call sleeves. What the heck do people not cover thier arms anymore? Is it to much to ask for say 3 inches length compared to the .5 inch they are providing now. ITS AWFUL! I am all for cooler in the summer but SHEESH some of us have arm issues!! (Ok and so I also have boob issues, thigh issues, butt issues, belly issues, well crap just a whole lot of issues that need covering up properly lol for the sake as you said it the children HAHAHAHA).
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

Can we add the low rise jeans that has a zipper that is an inch long????
ReplyDeletePut my name on that petition!!!
ReplyDeleteHear, hear! Those clothes are surely designed for thin people!
ReplyDeleteAs one of those "younger" women... NO WAY would I ever wear something sleeveless. Major kudos to those plus sized women who have the confidence who can, but I think a majority of us just want to hide it.
ReplyDeletelol I love your letter! I feel that way so often. Im also sick of those "babydoll" tops that are supposed to cover your stomach but end up making you look pregnant.
ReplyDeleteI've NEVER figured that out. You know what else irks me? If I go into Lane Bryant half the shirts are see through. Please someone explain to me why I would want to wear a see through blouse when I'm a size 26? Hellloooooooo? Oh...I see. I'm supposed to wear a tank under it, huh? Got it. Add some more layers on me to what, SLIM ME DOWN?!!
