Taking Care of our Four Legged Family

We spent the morning at the vets because Max had some sort of bump on his back. Ken shaved the area last night and we treated it using information in the American Red Cross Pet First Aid Book. If you have a dog or cat this book is a MUST have reference. The link takes to you the dog first aid but there is also a link for cats too.

We took Sadie with us simply because leaving her home alone would have caused her exteme stress. They don't like to be apart. At the vets Ken went back to the car to get something and I said I'd head in with Max. They way they cried, people stopped to see if we were torturing them. She hates the vets and pretty much cried and whimpered the whole time we were there. Max was a good boy. While he was getting examined by the vet, she cried out with sympathy for him. Give the girl a tiara because she is a drama queen!

Antibiotics and special cleaning solution were prescribed and he is resting comfortably.  Back in 10 days to recheck.

Now for the most shocking part of the morning...its 10:55am and I've yet to have a drop of coffee. Well, pick yourselves back up off the floor I'm going to get a cup now!

And how was your morning?

  1. Poor baby! I believe every whine.

When my dog meets a new human, she always tries to convince them that she is seriously underfed, and in dire need of immediate belly rubs. Sometimes it works, too :)

I'm glad you and Ken are there to shower Max and Sadie with care and attention. I'm sure they return the favor ten-fold!

  5. You should have heard my cat when we took her to get her stitches (from the sterilization) removed. She screamed like a banshee throughout! When we came out of the surgery, the people in the waiting room looked shell shocked!

Have a great weekend and have some coffee!

  6. My aunts each had a dog from the same litter - brothers. They played together all the timne and just loved one another. Well, one passed away and since then, the other has just been depressed and lonely. It's sad... Funny how animals create bonds just as strong as humans...if not stronger.

  8. When my dog is not well, I then wish that he could speak to me - because wouldn't you just give them the world if you knew what they needed? I'm glad he's sorted out! And thank you for the first aid reference - our little guy has a skin problem right now. I'm clicking your link!
