the meaning of life

I've discovered the meaning of my life. When I was young I had a very close call with death and my Dad always told me that I was special, that I must be destined to do something great in life because I lived when everyone told him I'd die.

Today I've realized what the purpose is and much to my dismay, its not anything like the picture my Dad painted. I'm not here to cure disease or change the world. I'm not here to do something that will impact the lives of millions of people...or even any other people. My purpose while simple to some has great meaning to two very important creatures in my life.

I exist to open the door every 10 minutes of the day so that Sadie can wander outside and think about having a potty but then not go and so that Max can go out with her and chase all frogs and lizards from our patio. To serve every whim and whine of two cute black fluffy dogs.

Thats it.

My great meaning.

My great purpose.

I should have bought a doggie door.

  1. What... is there a problem with that? Sounds perfectly reasonable to my dog ;)

I'm back to blogging again. I'm glad you're still here as it's always nice to read those blogs I use to be so fond of.

  4. Insert "border collies" where you have "black fluffy dogs" and you have pretty much described my life ;)

  7. If our cat so much looks at the door three of us jump up and try to let him out. Our poor dog has to "ask" several of us before we do the same! And the thing is - we all like the dog better than the cat. Except my husband, who loves the cat!

  9. I struggle with the doggiedoor thing as methinks with a 145 pound bullmastiff its merely a DOOR :)
