Feeling crafty

So how do I manage to keep my hands out of the cookie jar and off of food these days? I keep my hands busy and my mind busy so I don't have time to think about food and even if I do, I can't touch it without messing up my projects....

no the scarf isn't for Sadie, she was curious about what I was doing and volunteered to model. If you look closely you can see a paw above her, that would be Maxwell laying on the top of the sofa looking out the window making sure the neighborhood is secure and free from intruders.

same pattern different weight of yarn, this one actually looks much prettier on

at this rate I'm going to have 1000 scarves crocheted by the time I reach goal and while a variety of scarves might not sound like such a bad thing, I live in Florida where you can only wear a scarf a few weeks out of the year most years.

I found this pattern on Kat's lovely blog, its in French and while I don't speak a lot of French with the help of translation programs and a chart I was able to make a reasonable copy of her beautiful version slightly modified to make it ligher weight. I think my next one will follow her pattern exactly.

  3. When I was losing all my weight, I learned to knit, scrapbooked years worth of pictures, and talked on the phone until I thought it was going to permanently connect to my ear!

I love the scarves, especially the white one! Beautiful!

  4. the purple one was an inexpensive skein of yarn that I thought would be good to practice with, after I got the hang of the stitch, I decided to make it in a neutral color and I just love it. I want to try other patterns too but I'm still learning and I'm taking it slow. For now its doing its thing and keeping me busy when I need to keep my mind off of food.

  7. I was just thinking - scarves in Florida?

Last year I knitted a few pairs of socks, but this year I've done nothing crafty... Maybe next winter again!

  12. Your scarves are FAB and your model is adorable. Thank you so much for the message on my site. Believe me I understand where you are. I was feeling so low when I read your message. I realize the PMS had a lot to do with it too. The other part is that I forget to learn to be patient with myself.

I need to learn to take something constuctive like crocheting or knitting to keep my hands away from my mouth. Sounds like you're doing great. Every little success is a big success.

I learned to knit about 3 years ago and have forgotten a little. I guess this is a great time to pick up the scarf I was trying to make.

    Thank you!
