Healthy You Challenge Check In Week 47, 2009

Hi everyone! I just want to wish everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving a very happy and healthy day. For those of you who aren't American and don't celebrate, have some turkey this coming Thursday and think of all of us here trying not to stuff ourselves with food.

I have a great plan...I'm doing all of the cooking so I'm in control of what is served. It works for me. How do you handle holiday meals and the pressure or temptation to overindulge?

WELCOME!

Did really well this week - got into a new weight decade, my favorite shirt fits again, and I tried on my wedding dress from 2006 to find it was significantly loose. WOOHOO!

I am going in with "It is one meal" thinking. I will not deprive myself and take what I really want. I am cooking but I refuse to make things like pumpkin fluff on Thanksgiving.

Chubby Chick recently told me that its a holiDAY not a holiWEEK or holiMONTH ... one DAY, I make enough food for one meal, except for the turkey which makes excellent white turkey chili the next day!

I kicked my own you know what all over that gym and it paid off yesterday at weigh in. I'm down a total of 8.8 pounds since Oct 11 now. Yay! I can't wait til I'm in out of the 170s for good. And I'm going to do it over a holiday. :)

I'm back after being MIA for quite some time. Has not been a good few weeks or even months, but I am ready to start anew!!

I'm still here... trying to figure out what's going to work for me. Right now, though.. I'm going to bed. :) Good night!

I have the flu -- so am really not on track for anything this week.

(this is Rachel from rachelsroad - just realized Ryan is signed in, not me, so this will say I'm Ryan)
Having a great week! I feel back in the swing of things with diet and exercise and am not worried at all about Thanksgiving this year. It'll just be me and my boyfriend, Ryan for the 1st time since his parents are in California and my mom is in Chicago (we're in TN). It'll be a healthy, delicious, vegetarian feast here!

last week I was up 1/2 pound but even though it's Thanksgiving week, I'm back on track and hoping for a lotst on Friday!!

Have a happy and healthy T-day everyone!

I am cooking my own healthy meals too. I think complete avoidance has been my only way of dealing with big holiday meals so far. My family tends to have tons of food at get togethers and I haven't been to one in a long time. Which is sad. :(

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I'm in Canada, so no Thanksgiving for me this week.

"Chubby Chick recently told me that its a holiDAY not a holiWEEK or holiMONTH ..." I really like that mindset!

I will be cooking some healthy stuff for Thursday's holiday. Tomorrow I'm going to go shopping for a formal dress for the New Year's Gala so that will motivate me to take it easy with the eating on Thursday! ;-)
