Healthy You Challenge Check In Week 47, 2009

Today is the first day of the last month of 2009. I know we all have very busy schedules and this month tends to be a whirlwind but I'm going to do my best to keep posting and make healthy choices 99% of the time. How crazy is your life right about now and what are you doing to combat the stress?

  1. I know the 'starting over tomorrow' mentality is trouble, but I got a bit off track over the holiday weekend and it's sort of nice to have a nice, fresh month starting today. I'm doing my best to finish the year strong. BUSY times at school leave little time for blogging, but I'm definitely checking in with you guys and cheering you on.

  2. These blogs are one big factor in keeping myself motivated during the holidays. Also, I keep telling myself that I want to have a jump on the new year's "resolutioners" in January, so staying on track now is important. The funny thing is, the busier I get, the less I overeat.

  3. I have been signing up for the weekly check in because I had a slip and fell off the wagon for a couple of months. But I'm back on. I rejoined the Weight Watcher meetings. Yeah. I also wasn't tooo great over the holiday. I've realized that holidays and vacations and road trips are when it's most difficult for me to stay on plan and we travelled a LOT recently. Oh well. Today is a new day and a new month. I'm excited. :)

  4. I'm trying to take time to unwind every day and give myself a mental break. I love to sip a cup of peppermint tea too, it really helps fight the urge for evening munching.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week.

  5. I'm quite relaxed about things this year- I am going easy on myself. The Christmas tree went up last week and I was wrapping presents at the weekend.

My stress reduction technique involves giving and receiving plenty of hugs, even if it's just with the cat!

  6. I am so excited to be here. While I just signed up, I have been here in spirit for quite awhile.
My life is actually going well right now. Things have actually slowed down for me. I am focusing on my blog and testing a theory I have about getting to the core. I am going to use my blog to write about what I discover. That is my plan to get through the holidays healthier this year

  7. Thank you for welcoming me to the challenge, glad to be on board, even if it is almost a year late :)
This year I am sitting amongst the debris of a house renovation. Yes, in December, we are crazy. So I'm trying to bury myself in coursework to ease the stress! Christmas cards haven't even crossed my mind yet...as a newbie, still having to think through every meal and make healthy eating my no.1 priority!

  8. I'm kickin' some serious ass, that's what. :) I'm committing myself to taking 2 kickboxing classes every week on top of my regular schedule of gym rat status I'm going for. Daily self care is critical too. Seriously, that's been the secret to my happiness as of late. Here's hoping it continues flawlessly. Thanks for being here everyone.

  9. Not crazy... yet! However, every time I think of what still needs to be done, I start to feel a little anxious. *deep breath* What needs to get done will, and what doesn't get done, didn't need to be that badly. :)

  11. Someday I will have time to actually comment on all these great blogs, but until then I hope everyone has a happy and healthy week! I am getting back on track after a food filled week at home with the fam :)

  12. I agree with Bella. It feels good to know that we're not alone in our journeys. Hope everyone has a happy, healthy week. =]

Exercise has really helped me deal with stress. Can't tell the last time I've felt down about anything, quite honestly. I'll just try to keep up my current dose of cardio lol.

  13. Had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Moving on to normal life. I forgot to eat breakfast today! ? ! Can a person actually forget to eat?? not me...never. Not good for me though, I need to be more aware.
Exercise helps me with stress. And drinking water.....I don't have time to stress about things, I'm always in the bathroom. :)
    Have a great week!

  14. I have been off track, but I am going to use this holiday season to get back on track! That's right, no excuses, no waiting for everyone else at the beginning of the new year, right now is the time!

  16. So thankful for the support system that I've been reading for a while, even if I only took part in it recently.

  17. Funny - my latest post is about how I'm dealing with it all. I've been focused lately on lifestyle and how to really implement the long-term habits. A big part of that is the lack of spirituality I've been making time for, so that's my first step. December is a great month for it since Advent just started:)
