Hi everyone! Busy but fun holiday weekend here, how was your weekend? Summer is winding down in most of the northern hemisphere and is just around the corner for our friends in the southern hemisphere. How does the change of seasons effect your diet/exercise?
After almost two months I was able to change the 20lb lost button on my blog for the 25lb lost button. Here's hoping it doesn't take me another two months to change it to the 2 stone lost button!
'How does the change of seasons effect your diet/exercise?'
I must be the only woman out there who decides to lose weight properly AFTER summer has finished. I was stuffing my face with carbs, while the rest of the world slimmed down for bikini season. Now autumn (fall) is around the corner, I can be found jogging in the British end of August rain. Why? I don't know! The damage has already been done, all the horrible fat swimsuit photos have already been taken!
Oh, I meant to add this morning that the change of season does affect my attitude because it remotivates me. :) I've been having a Fall-cleaning spree at my house this morning - getting rid of anything and everything standing in my way of reaching my goal. It feels great!
I actually don't mind it too much when the weather starts getting colder, because summer is a freak season here and it's cold most of the year, so I'm used to it. I love going for long walks/jogs, so even if it's cold I'll do it anyway (plus, my allergies die down in the fall and winter, huzzah!), but if it's raining, I'll do a yoga video or find a silly work out video on the telly or something. The only real problem isn't the weather, it's that school is starting up again, and that tends to make me want to do less work. Hopefully I can keep on keeping on, though!
Late, but here! While my diet may worsen (less summer fruit, less scorching temps to keep the appetite at bay), exercise in the cooler weather is MUCH easier for me.
I'm cracking the whip and getting on track for the new season! No more summer BBQs and fun fruity drinks..even if it is Florida where we have warm weather all year long!
The cool fall weather makes me feel great and gets me out of the house and wanting to walk and bike. Although I do love swimming in the lake in the summer; 2 days ago I got a membership to the YMCA and I can swim there now. Yay!
